About the Artists of Yardley
Established in 2004 as an arts organization in the Yardley area, Artists of Yardley (AOY) has evolved with over 150 artists in a full spectrum of disciplines. The AOY, a non-profit 501(c)3, is dedicated to nurturing the creative spirit of the community by educating and encouraging individuals to experience, appreciate and share in the arts.
In the winter of 2010, the AOY adopted the historic Janney House on Patterson Farm in Yardley, PA as their new home and art center. Located in the heart of Bucks County, the panoramic views from the surrounding cornfields complement the organization's aesthetic tenor. The AOY engages students from the curious young to seasoned learners with diverse classes in all media, workshops, summer camps and innovative programs taught by professional-level instructors. We also plan to host juried and non-juried art shows, gallery exhibitions, fund-raising and social events throughout the year.
Offering a generous program for cultural advancement and personal growth, the AOY joined local middle schools in developing scholarship opportunities for students. The winners from the 2010 student competition took part in the AOY Member Show June of 2010.
We invite the community to be involved in this exciting new venture and we welcome new members. Our monthly meetings are lively and informative, a time to hear about what is going on with the group, discuss goals and plans, meet and get to know fellow artists. Meetings are open to the public and held in the AOY Art Center, 949 Mirror Lake Road, Yardley, PA on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM.
